The Story

Introduction

Shelley and I met at Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1989. We dated for about one year before Shelley went off to college and I... well eventually went off to do stunt work and thus fly the Rocketbelt.

17 years later Shelley felt led to track me down and did a Google search. Shelley spent an hour inspecting each picture on this website looking for a wedding ring. With no confirmation she built up the nerve to email me.

After a number of emails and then hours of phone calls we decided to meet up again. The one thing I did not know is what she looked like. It had been many years and she had no pictures available on-line. Never the less, the plane landed in Dallas and when she walked out of the airport the decision was made. She was just as beautiful as she was in High School.

If that wasn't enough, the chemistry sealed the deal and now I'm writing this introduction!

The Engagement

I proposed on Christmas day 2006. I was able to purchase the ring, ask her father's permission to marry her and propose on Christmas day with a total surprise to my Bride to be!

I had to get Shelley's sisters to take her outside for 10 minutes so I could talk with her Father. I told her father that I wanted to ask his permission to marry his daughter and promised I would treat her good and take care of her to the best of my abilities. He told me that he had given his permission the first day we met, on Thanksgiving.

The Wedding

From the temperature to the wine selection, to the location, music, flowers, pastor, food, family, friends, Model T ford even a cat milling around. Absolutely the most perfect and fun paced wedding. The pace was not too fast or slow.

This is not just me or Shelley talking this was the consensus of all the guest we talked to.

We made a point to face the guest during the ceremony. Pastor Keith was Shelley's Pastor and just a great servant for Christ.

The Honeymoon

I have traveled to many countries. I had enough airline miles to fly both Shelley and I first class anywhere in the world. But where to go??? There was only one place I had not been which I always wanted to go and one of the many places Shelley wanted to see and that was Greece.

Shelley and I both love the weather, ancient architecture and Biblical significance Greece had to offer. It was a perfect location to visit with a perfect wife.

The trip started off with a 4 day cruise in the Mediterranean. We were very excited to see so many Biblical sites. Ephesus, Corinth, Patmos (and saw the cave where John the apostle wrote Revelations).
